The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe is a private, upscale golf course and estate home site community being developed in over 500 acres of land in Rancho Santa Fe, California, about 25 miles north of downtown San Diego.
More than 200 custom homes will be situated around an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The setting features deep canyons, naturally flowing creeks, citrus orchards, olive groves, cypress and eucalyptus trees.
The 35,000-square-foot clubhouse will be perched high on a hillcrest. It will feature an architectural style reminiscent of the hillside villages of Tuscany, in northern Italy. It will include a pro-shop, indoor and outdoor dining, men's and women's lockers and lounges, separate fitness and swimming facilites, tennis courts, an amphitheater staging for social gatherings, and spacious common areas. The customs homes will follow the architectural guideline of the homes in that Italian region, which includes a blend of Italian, Spanish, and French country styles. Only 350 memberships to the golf club will be available to insure ample playing time for members and their guests.
The Bridges par-71 championship golf course is the cornerstone of this exclusive Rancho Santa Fe community. It features 18 holes covering 6,800 yards of strategically mixed holes, meandering through the canyons with fairways lined with natural vegetation. Bridges add character to the course and provide essential links across deep canyons and waterways. The course will have five sets of tees to satisfy the playing ability of a variety of golfers. Each hole was strategically designed with offset tee placements, some lined up along a canyon line, and some down a hillside. The design creates a challenge from the back tees, but produce a very playable course from the other tees. One striking feature of this layout is a 285-foot suspended bridge across the 10th hole, which also presents a dramatic carry across a deep canyon and creek from the tee for an exciting risk/reward situation.
This golf course will open to limited play in September of 1999, and the clubhouse is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2000.
The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe is located off Aliso Canyon Road, and is accessible from the Del Dios Highway, just 10 minutes from Interstate-5 and Interstate-15.
