Cross Creek Golf Club

The Arthur Hills-designed golf course opened in 2001, and has already received a four-and-a-half-star rating in Golf Digest's "Places to Play" Guide. The Cross Creek golf course layout lies in a secluded natural environment, featuring rippling creeks, groves of old oak and sycamore trees and no homes...just you, blue sky, hills and woodlands at their finest.

In addition to intriguing scenery, the golf course offers various changes in elevation, producing blind shots to elevated greens or spectacular views of the hills and farmlands in Temecula. In order to score well on this course, good ball striking and playing from the right set of tees are a must.

The Club's practice facilities can help, with several target greens and bunkers so you can perfect your shot from dawn to dusk. No matter your final score, Cross Creek golf course will provide a haven for exceptional golf, away from homes, freeways and noise.

• Notes & Comments:   Located along the "I-15 Corridor," Arthur Hills designed this beautiful San Diego golf course keeping the shot-maker in mind.  Good ball striking and playing from the right set of tees are a must in order to be able to score well here.

This is "Target-golf" at its best. Greens are smallish, firm and fast, often times sloping away from the player. To be able to hold them, one must hit high approaches aimed at the front ...or be prepared to chip from greenside and bail out areas (with manageable rough) or explode your way out of well placed bunkers.

This San Diego layout features various changes in elevation, producing blind shots to elevated greens or spectacular views of the hills and farmlands in Temecula. 

The seventeenth hole is set on a rocky hillside with a green placed similarly to # 12 at Augusta National Golf Course, with a bushy creek protecting the front. Old oak and sycamore groves and other native trees give a rustic flavor to this San Diego golf course. Fairways are firm and sometimes hard to hold, reminding of hard-surfaced links courses but without the sea nearby. A ball on the fairway rolls a long way, sometimes getting caught in one of several deep fairway bunkers.

This is a beautiful course that will make you use every club in the bag and every brain cell in your head.

• Walking:  Allowed, but difficult due to the substantial distance between some greens and following tees.

• Directions: I-15, Rancho California Rd exit. Go west to De Luz Rd, then left to Via Vaquero Rd, and again left to the clubhouse.
