Steele Canyon is one of only three golf courses in San Diego County to be awarded the Four Star Rating by Golf Digest. Designed by Gary Player, the 27-hole championship golf course shows true appreciation for the natural terrain and respect for golf at all levels. Each of the three nines offers a unique environment and a golf experience you will be talking about for many years. It’s one of those courses you really want to play again and again. The rugged Canyon Nine features breathtaking elevations and dramatic shot-making challenges. The Ranch Nine is picturesque, actually winding through the fields of a working ranch and the 100 year old farm equipment you’ll see on display is a very interesting distraction. The Meadow Nine drifts along scenic woodlands, streams and the native wildlife of a pastoral valley. The course includes a 20-station driving range and an oversized practice putting green. For midday breaks and evening retreats, the Canyon Club restaurant offers a creative menu, indoor and outdoor seating, and an outdoor pavilion for special events. Locker rooms, a golf shop and PGA golf instruction are also available.
Reservations: Up to 60 days in advance. Directions: Only 20 minutes east of downtown San Diego. Directions from I-5, or I-805, or I-15 south to Hwy-94 East until it become a surface street. At the 6th light turn right onto Willow Glen, right onto Steele Canyon Rd., left onto Jamul Rd., left 1 mile to club entrance. Walking: No Remarks: Hosts the Junior World Championships Every July.
